Success via vegetable farming

I am Yadvinder Singh from Village Chak Bakhtu in District Bathinda. I started green nursery in 2015 and before that I had done graduation in Hospitality Management.  Before this, I was working in Singapore as a chef. I have a great passion for cooking and I did a diploma in cooking as well. Although I have travelled to more than 10 Asian countries but I always found peace in my village and I decided to come back and get connected to my roots once more. I find farming very interesting and rewarding. I now earn 1 lakh from one kanal of land and I am very satisfied with my life.

In future I want to expand my nursery business and grow it many folds. I also want to give training to budding farmers and also offer franchise of my nursery to other farmers who are passionate about farming like me.

I feel that farmers should get out of the conventional cycle of wheat and paddy and farmers should try to diversify or look for other modes of income from farming. Conventional crops give income twice in a year, but with some diversification, they can get monthly income which will help them a lot.
